‘Moving Through Stillness’, Maha X Nike Air exhibition, 2023

Izoughran is an exploration of self-definition, cultural heritage, and what it means to employ a Tamazight gaze. In the video work, a woman inhabits a space that is void of the white gaze and Arabic influence that has been forced on Tamazight people. Gradually, she returns to various practices and objects that hold specific significance to Agoula and her familial background, as she has seen their presence wane over the span of her lifetime.
